Alex Bent + the Emptiness is the alternative rock/pop solo project of Canadian artist Alex Bent. In contrast to his contemporaries, Bent applies his own twist of alt-rock nostalgia to the current trends of the pop and hip-hop genre.

Bent’s sophomore visual album, Jesus Issues, was released this September via S.A.D.I.E. Independent. The album includes 14 new songs and music videos and is being packaged with a 58-minute full-length film.

Jesus Issues has already been shown at a series of DIY screenings across Canada this spring and summer. Most recently, the film was shown at screenings at Saskatoon’s Remai Modern art gallery, as well as Toronto’s legendary Cinecycle theatre.

Made in isolation, Bent wrote and recorded the album at The Store, a community-run underground recording studio located in an undisclosed location in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
